Environmental Art | Public Projects

In college I minored in Environmental Art where the main focus was developing public art proposals that would benefit communities in need. I individually proposed a mural and renovated playground projects while as a group we worked with the city in an attempt to build a bus shelter to assist residents of a local mobile home park. Digital designs were drawn up, videos/merch were created, proposals were written and interviews with residents were conducted. Recently I have been revisiting this field through taking a Grant Writing for Artists course at the Contemporary Austin Laguna Gloria (Summer ‘19).

I was inspired by my experience working in public art and submitted this digitally drawn piece to a student show. Each design is an ode to community associations and personal memories while living and working in Meadville, Pennsylvania during my time as an undergrad. This print was purchased by the the Film Department (The Vukovich) at Allegheny College for display in 2013.
